This is fascinating, John. In the beginning of my chemistry course, we talked about new ways of harnessing energy in place of petroleum. Electrolysis seemed to be the best solution- put an electric current through water, and you get hydrogen. What was needed was a way to harness this efficiently, but this is the solution for that.
The ability to harness this efficiently is incredible. They should be able to make power turbines and engines that can use this soon.

This is a great and new idea for the scientific world, which has been struggling recently to find a solution to the rising gas prices currently. This salt water solution seems to be a more reasonable way than using ethanol because using ethanol requires using up valuable food, more specifically-corn, that many people need to survive. It is hard to fathom that this could happen but in today's world with everything developing so quickly, this could quite possiblely be the next way we are going to be powering our cars. I know I am a huge advocate for hybrids, and I still love the fast expensive gas guzzlers like the Ferrari's , Lambo's, and Rolls', I still think my first choice for a car would be the Toyota Echo because I believe every little bit of saving helps. This idea put forth by this scientist could be helpful in another invention that might be discovered on the future. Your blog was very informative and I learned a lot about this new salt water idea.

Great blog. It was really helpful that you included extra links on the subject to further educate your readers. It is crazy to think that the world could be run by water now. If this was a safe and accurate method of attaining energy, this could solve a lot of the economic and environmental problems that exist in the world today. I believe we are technologically advanced enough to figure out a way to make this "dream" come true. It would allow for costs on certain natural resources to go down and provide a greater power source. You seem to be very knowledgeable about the topic, which made it easier for me to understand it. You did a great job with the structure of your blog and a great job included sources into it.

This is a really cool thing this guy has discovered, out of all the energies that have been discovered, such as using corn oil to power cars, this would be by far the best, if we can make it work. There's a lot of ocean out there, so I'm not too worried that this source would ever go dry such as the oil is now. We need to fund this and find out if this can work because if it does many of our energy problems would be solved. Cool blog.

If this is really true and it ends up being successful in the long run our world will change completely. It is pretty hard to believe, however it seems like there is a lot of research on it and it may actually end up working. If it actually does end up working it will take a while to change our cars, planes, etc., to be able to run of water and be successful. I think that scientists should really try hard to master this because it could change our lives. This is a really good blog and very interesting to read. It is written really well and your links are very useful.

This article seems like it has some valid points, but then some very invalid points. The first invalid point I found was #4: Score A Baseball Game. This is completely unnecessary because some men don't like baseball, they like basketball, football, hockey, or some other sport better. I do agree with Mr. McEnroe that men do need to realize the value of service and compassion. Not all of these are completely false, as everyone should learn the skill of being able to tell when someone is lying, as that would be a very good skill to have in general.

I kind of like this list is just a joke really not meant to be serious I can see. I mean it's from Esquire what do you expect? Its like going to Ask men.com and looking for a real article if your trying to make it out to be a serious topic. You aren't going to find one on a site like that because thats what sites like that are for just fun.

I know many males (human) who don't have to look at this list to survive or to thrive. Number 1 on my list is: Recognize the value of service and compassion.

I did not read the list, but I get what you are saying. There are so many different types of people out there, so many different types of jobs, and the world is just so different. How can we make a list of the most important things a male needs to know how to do? I mean yes, I bet it is interesting and I bet they are all good things to know how to do, but there are unbelievably successful people out there that I can promise do not know how to do everything on that list. Also, the point that you make about what is on it and what will be on it in the future, if you think about how fast our world is changing, there are going to be things constantly getting added to that list, and therefore things getting removed, which are now no longer important.

I completely agree. It is absurd that Mr. Sousa had to resort to that to draw a crowd. The food should have cost something, the t-shirts should have cost something, and there should have been a bake sale all benefiting Mr. Sousa's cause. I'm pretty sure he was not too excited with the outcome of the event because he was aiming for much higher than he actually raised. This community really came together last year for the first Lap-A-Thon. Next year, I hope this is an actual community event, with maybe even citizens from Marion participating, day student parents and families, everyone can get involved. Maybe even get a car wash going. There should be more organization in this event and I hope it is an even greater success than the first year.
